The Fair 2012

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to touch base with all of you about how I am handling Fair orders this year.

As most of you already know, we got a new baby boy at our house in March!  He is the sweetest sack of sugar you have ever seen and the best baby ever!  However, his arrival has thrown a bit of a monkey wrench in my usual preparations for the Fair.

I normally begin stocking my freezer for the Fair in February.  Well, this February and early March lets just say I didn’t feel much like cooking, what with a ten pound baby taking up residence in my person J  Then, after his arrival I’ve been a little bit busy.  Now it’s mid June and I have very little in my freezer.

I am beginning to restock my supply of casseroles, but there is no way I will be able to produce the volume of food that I would need to fill all of the orders I normally get this time of year.  So, if you would like to purchase food from What’s For Dinner? For the 2012 Neshoba County Fair, here are your options:

1)      Place an order for your favorites IMMEDIATELY!!!!!  When I say IMMEDIATELY I’m talking like in the next 5-7 days.  Depending on how many orders I receive, I may have to stop taking them even earlier.  I’m not setting an actual deadline because I have no idea what kind of response I will get from this.  Just know that when I think I’ve gotten as many orders as I can fill I will stop taking them.  I will notify you when I have your order ready.  You will have 48 hours to pick up your order.  If you have not picked up your order within 48 hours, I will list the items on facebook and my blog for sale.

2)      You can check our facebook page or blog daily for a current list of what’s in the freezer.  As I cook, I will post what I have available for sale and it will go on a first come, first served basis.  You will need to pick up your order within 48 hours from the time you claim it.

There are several items that I will not be making for this Fair due to the amount of time they take.  Three of those items are cookies, sausage balls and cake balls (sad, I know).  They just take so much time.  I also reserve the right to choose not to do anything else from the menu that is just too time consuming for this time of year.  ALL casseroles and dips will be available.

I will try to make some extra cakes, brownies, and dips to have on hand for those who need them at the last minute.  That seemed to be helpful to many of you last year.

I appreciate the business of all of my wonderful customers!!!  I’m sorry for any inconvenience this might cause any of you and I hope to be back in the swing of things for the 2013 Neshoba County Fair!

Pre-Order For The Fair

"Wait a minute...My kids are at the midway, my husband is at the horse races...Why am I inside the cabin preparing a meal instead of sitting on the porch?"

Because she didn't get her order in with What's For Dinner? before the pre-order deadline, that's why!!!

Pre-order for the fair!

I want to thank all of my wonderful customers for five successful years! I had no idea this little project of mine would grow so much, and it’s all thanks to YOU!

The Neshoba County Fair is just around the corner and my order book is filling up quickly! Please place your orders NOW and stock the freezer at your cabin. Even items that need to be delivered fresh, such as cakes, should be ordered as far in advance as possible to secure availability. I will fill frozen orders immediately to free up my freezer space. Fresh item orders such as cakes and cookies will be filled a day or two before The Fair begins to insure freshness.(I will need to get casseroles to you as soon as I can fill that part of your order to free up freezer space. Cakes, cookies, and other fresh item orders will not be filled until a few days before The Fair starts to insure freshness.) (I will need to get casseroles to you as soon as I can fill that part of your order to free up freezer space. Cakes, cookies, and other fresh item orders will not be filled until a few days before The Fair starts to insure freshness.)

I would like to request that you place your order for The Fair by no later than

Wednesday, July 6

to insure availability. Please do not misunderstand. You can place orders ANY TIME. Even after the July 6 pre-order date. However, I do fill orders on a “first come, first served” basis, so if you order by July 6 I will guarantee that I will be able to completely fill your order. If you order after that date, my ability to fill your order will depend on how many other orders I have to fill ahead of yours.

If you don’t already, now would be a good time to start following our blog or become a fan of What’s For Dinner? On FACEBOOK. I will constantly be posting what food us left in the freezer and is available for purchase. This is a life saver for those last minute additions to your Fair menu!

Please notice that this year I have removed all cookies from the menu. Due to the amount of time they require, and the high volume of orders I am filling, I simply cannot bake cookies any longer. I will be happy to share any recipes for cookies that have previously been available, as I know that some of these have become traditions in many of your cabins.

Have a Happy Fair!
